.My Valentine.

Valentine's Day is a very special day, when you can take a few extra minutes to tell all those you love, how much you love them and show them with many loving gestures. I am very simple, and less is always more to me. I spent a wonderful day with my love, and my day started out with a rose and a kiss. Could not have asked for a more perfect way to start any day.

I hope all of you had a great day, but I encourage you to treat everyday as if it were Valentine's Day!

.Walk in the Park. 02.13.11

Getting back into the swing of things, and getting comfortable with a new camera takes time and patience. Today my mom and I went for a walk around the park, just so I can get used to my new lens and flash. I currently have 6 photoshoots scheduled for March and want to get extremely familiar with my new equipment before then.

It is amazing how just one little piece makes a huge difference! Here's a few pictures for your viewing!

Everytime I go in this store I want to put everything in a bag, take it home, and play dress up. The clothes, accessories, shoes, and hand bags are simply adorable! .Blah Day. 02.03.11

I am not so sure it can get any colder outside! (21 degrees to be exact) So what do I do? I couldn't take it anymore. (I've waited an entire week)... I got the camera out and went to Maumelle Park to fire her up for the first time! I have been kind of blah today, and felt like using my black and white capabilities. Not all the photos I take are always black and white, but my mood and my emotions always come out in my photography and I love it. It feels very soul cleansing.

There is definite silence gap in my photography from August 2009 to February 2011 simply because I was offered a position with one of the largest communications companies in the US, and in order for me to commute for 4 weeks after moving twice (2 different states), I did the inevitable.. I...sold...my...camera...

Was one of the hardest things I have had to do, knowing the passion stems from the great loss of my daughter, and the many years taken from her that have went and will continue to go unphotographed, however there were many more amazing things to come at that time.

Upon taking and accepting the position at work, I quickly met my love, my knight with a shiny playstation :) We have been together since 10.10 and are happily preparing for the future!

The desire to get back to my photography longed in my heart for many many months, but as you know the pocket book does not always fit our wants and desires. Then came 01.26.2011. My guy handed me the money and sent me off to get a brand new camera. This is life changing again for me, and brings my steps back to me. I love photography, and everything surrounding the beauty you can capture with one simple click, which brings me to why we are here today!

To celebrate getting back to me, my self love/acceptance, my amazing knight with a shiny playstation, and getting back to solid ground, I thought what a better way to celebrate than with my first blog giveaway! As you can read at the bottom of my blog, my photography stems from the love of my daughter Madilyne, and the hope that I can capture memories for those I adore. I aspire to photograph all ages, sizes, shapes, places, emotions, and memories for them to cherish for many years.

There are points of the United States and the world that are so astonishing to have the chance to photograph as a photographer. I feel very fortunate to have this chance in my lifetime to photograph one of the most beautiful cities. I am very excited to be here in Manhattan to share my abilities of photography with this very welcoming community.
